Dear Sri Dileepan,

You will remember that a while ago I suggested that we should have in

one of our Conferences, a "Patti- Manram" type of discussion on the

various deities celebrated in the Divya Desams. I am glad that you have

initiated a delectable debate which gives us deep insights into various

view points. May be, we can still think of including such discussions in

any of our future Seminars.

After this, we may perhaps have a similar discussion on the various

Kalyana Gunas of the Lord. I have heard in Kalakshepams that the

Nityasuris in Srivaikuntam spend their time (Kalakshepam) in discussing

the Gunanubhavam of the Lord.

Such discussions give us an opportunity to go over and over again on the

soul- stirring Pasurams and Stotrams of Azhwars and Acharyas.

Well done. The important thing, however, is to ensure that there is no

room for any rancour in such discussions, which in any event,

I believe, we are mature enough to avoid.

My dear Bhagavathaas,

With the Grace of Narayana, may I say that this is indeed the most important

and necessary thing to do. The culmination of all efforts leads to this only -

talking about, listening to in rapture and experiencing the gunas of the Lord.

"Man manaa bhava" says the Lord in the Gita. What easier way is there for this

than that offered by the gunas of the Lord? The gunas of the Lord take us to

Him without fail. This, as you know, was the basis of Narada's teaching to

Vyasa and resulted in the gift of Bhaagavatham to us.

If it is not too late to include this in the upcoming December conference at

Dallas, perhaps this can be included in later seminars as a standard feature.

Dear vaishhNava-s,

Let's not forget other deities below!

yadoktakaari (= yat+ukta+kaari ie. one who acts per speech? ).

Is not this deity the most trustworthy for the prapanna ?

Also for the prapanna, is there any deity higher than varaaha-bhagavaan

at tiruvidaventai and shriimushhNam ? (because Lord Varaaha delivered the most

reassuring of all carama-shlokas for the prapanna.)

But for the philosophically inclined, is there any deity better than

Lord diipa-prakaasha (viLakoLi-perumaaL) Who seems to echo the vedic

phrase (tamaso maa jyotir gamaya). This perumaaL would eventually turn

the (dry?) philosopher into a prapanna and send him over to other deities?

-Ram

PS: Is Lord diipa-prakaasha located at the same tuupul where our beloved

tuupul-kulamaNi shrii vedaanta-deshika also appeared ?

If so, was not it really Lord diipa-prakaasha (not Lord varada-raaja) who

turned deshika over to Lord ranganaatha ?
