Dear Srinivasan:

My comments were not intended to disprove what you have stated. In fact, my

knowledge in all these fields is a complete zero. Your interpretation is

nonetheless plausible and it is an alternative way of looking at it. Sri

Vijayaraghavan has presented another view too which also cannot be disputed.

On the whole, any discussion in this forum leads to multifaceted,

multidimensional, kaleidoscopic views which are equally relevant. Thank you as

well as Sri Vijay for refreshing interpretations.

Etymology of Tamil is one of my favorites and I like to think

about word derivations. I am not that well read, neither in religion

nor in Tamil or Sanskrit literature.
