Dear members,

Yesterday I met Sri SMS Chari, who published his book "philosophy of Bramha

sutras according to Samkara, Ramanuja and Madhva". This book got raving

reviews by both Sri V.N. Gopaladesikan in Hindu and Sri Purushe

Krishnamacharya in the Nrisimhapriya (the recent issue). I had a copy of

the Hindu article. If I find it I will email the highlights.

Dr. SMS CHari can be reached at :(760) 747-7577 (till this saturday) and

afterwards at : 818-348-8182 in Los Angeles. If you need some

clarification on Vedanta you can talk to him. Dr. SMS Chari is 80 years

old and one of the leading exponents of Visistadvaita equally comfortable

in presenting the philosophy in english. He has written several books :

Fundamentals of Visistadvaita - based on tattvamukta kalapa of Vedanta

Desika

Advaita and Visistadvaita - based on satadushani

Vaishnavism

philosophy of Brahma sutras according to Samkara, Ramanuja and Madhva.

And the good news is - He has written a major portion of a new book - A

study based on the evaluation of the comments of Samkara, Ramanuja and

Madhva

The philosophy of the Upanisads

Luckily for me, I have typed the introductory chapter of this book and we

are planning to finish this book in three months. Since he discusses with

me before we write the chapter down, it is a great experience for me; I am

getting an overview of the Upanisads from different vedantic view points.

It is rare that anyone can get to understand from such a great author as

SMS Chari and particularly that a Guru of that kind comes looking for

adiyen! in this philosophical desert- San Diego!. It is a treat or a more

so a retreat for me since he teaches me with great patience answering all

my questions.

Anyone can make avail of his visit to USA by talking to him or requesting

him to visit your city or even letting him talk regularly on weekly

lectures over a conference call.
