Guest guest
--------------SRIMATHE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA----------------------- Respected Devotees, I humbly wish to place my comments on the recent mail regarding Srivaishnavas, brahmins etc. It should be noted that castism must not be mentioned while discussing about bhaktas as it may hamper the very theme of Srivaishnavism, which simply defines: Srivaishnavas: Those who whole-heartedly adhere, believe and worship Sriman Narayanan, irrespective of castes, religion etc. Should we trace the avatharas of Emperuman, like Srirama and Srikrishna both of them do not belong to the brahmin community but to Schakthriyas. Similarly our great acharyas like Nammazhwar(The first and foremost acharya), Thirumangaiazhwar, Thirupaanazhvar, Manavala Maamunigal etc etc etc were not brahmins(I mean iyer/iyengars). So let us not bring castism like Iyer, Iyengar as matters of discussion in this enlightened and learned forum. Sri Ramanuja himself have set examples in many occasions, involving castism during his life time. Please take this mail in the right sense and I am not intended to offend anyone. And I apologize for it, if any. Just to clarify so that people don't get misinformation. While Nammalvar, Thirumangai, and Thiruppaan were not brahmins (veLLaaLa, kaLLa, and paaNa respectively), maNavALa maamunigaL was born into a vaDama brahmin family.
