Since he is not able to live without Him and can not bear any further delay to attain His Feet, AzhwAr, performs prapatthi. He alone is the One who can save us- AzhwAr realizes and His Feet alone shall be end. AzhWar surrenders to Thirunaangoor KaavaLampaadi PerumAL saying “You alone are my rakshakan”. An excellent ten pAsurams on Anayagatitvam! (Please bear with me for the delay in this post due to my business trip) 1. “KaavaLampaadi KaNNanE! KaLaikaN neeyE!”. GajEndran, searched everywhere and finally arrived at a big pond, which was full of Lotus flowers. He entered into the pond and went to the middle to pluck one big beautiful lotus to offer to Emperumaan. He uttered AdhimoolamE fearing that the lotus in his hand may not reach the Lord at all and was saved by the Lord Sriman Narayanan, (who came to remove GajEndran’s sorrows and sufferings from the crocodile.). Oh Such Greatest EmperumaanE! KaNNA! The One who shows Himself gracefully at Naangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan. 2. “KaNNanE! KaavaLanthaNpaadiyaay! KaLaikaN neeyE!” Oh KannA! The One who brought back the Earth on Your horn (as Varaaha Moorthy; the One who took a small boy form as Vaamanan (as per the requests of Devas to reduce or remove Mahabhali’s strengths and begged for mere three measures of the earth from Bhali! The One who is at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! 3. KarutthanE! KaavaLanthaNpaadiyaay! KaLaikaN neeyE!” KannA! The One who is most powerful, and who offered the shining crown and the strength to Sugreevan (who came in alliance with You to support You) by aiming an arrow to the strong chest of the angry Vaali! The One who is at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! (Karutthan means: Most strongest, the One who does; the Lord; or Karthaa (doer)) 4. EmperumaanE! The One who wears the most victorius anklets at the at Your Feet! The One who offered the kingdom to VibhIshaNan by making the ten strong heads of rAvaNan fall on the ground in the battle field! The One who is at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! 5. Oh Lord! The One who has eternally Youthful, most feminine, Most beautiful Periya PiraaTTi always in Your chest! The One who danced effortlessly on the head of most poisonous KaaLingan snake! The One who is at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! 6. OH EmperumaanE! The One who killed the wrestlers ChaaNooran, and Mushtikan at the entrance of Kamsan’s palace! The One who simply made all other strong kings fall dead in the battle field (of Bharatham)! The One who is at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! 7. Oh Lord! The One who plucked the tusk of Kuvalayaapeetam elephant! The One who went as a messenger for Pancha paandavaas in order to give them the kingdom that is due for them! The One who is here at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! 8. “KaavaLampaadi mEya KaNNanE! KaLaikaN neeyE!” KannA! The One bright the most beautiful kaRpaka tree immediately from the Indra lOkam, by fighting against Indran and winning over, and for the sake of Sathyabama PiraaTTi! The One who is here at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! (This KaavaLampaadi was established by Indran himself, it is told- AzhwAr says that in the pAsuram- Purandharan seydha naangaik KaavaLampaadi mEya KaNNanE”) 9. (A beautiful pAsuram! Please enjoy the transliteration too below!) The Lord of Chandhas (Gayathri?)! The Niyamakan (the Director?) of that words that make the Chandas! The Chief of five elements (Pancha BhUtham)! The Primordial Chief! The Creator and Cause of all creations! The essence of everything! The essence of indescribable, incomprehensible Vedic truths! The One who is here at Naaangai KaavaLampaadi! You alone are my rakshakan! “chandhamaay samayamaagich/ chamaya aimbhUthamaagi*/ andhamaa aadhiyaagi/ arumaRai avaiyum anaay!* mandhamaar pozhilgaL thORum/ mada mayilaalu naangai/ gandhamaar kaavaLanthaN/ paadiyaay! KaLaikaN neeyE!” 10. This ten is about the Lord KaNNan who shows Himself gracefully at Naangai KaavaLampaadi where (wealthy) bramins live happily! The singer is Kaliyan and those who recite these ten beautiful Pasurams will become the kings of the whole earth, and rule all other “small” kings serving them.
