The temple renovation was started by Late Sri R.Ramanujam (RR)

a native of thirukudanthai and adiyEN's ex-boss in india. He

was a very generous shishyAL of Sri Ahobila muth. Later after

his ascendance to Srivaikundam, his brother Sri R.K.Swamy took

many of the responsibilites that Sri RR was doing including

the fund raising efforts of 600th anniversary of Sri AH muth.

Both of the brothers have earlier cleaned the entire temple

structures using sand blasting. This was a pioneer effort and

after this they did this in thirukudanthai, now many temples

in tamilnadu are doing this. It is said that this alone costed

more than millions of rupees. Later they lessened the "load"

on the temple top by removing layers of olden days "ottu" & by

putting a lighter and equally stronger version of modern days

"ottu" (ceiling). Further they have spent for several other

kainkaryams by deputing their brother Sri R.Narayanan to be

stationed permanently in sannithi theru, all these years. Many

thanks to them. IT is believed that they have spent from their

family close to Rs 1 crore or 10 million. All in all it is

expected that more than Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crores and more)

would have been spent on this mahA samprOkshanam.

 

It is adiyEn's parama bAgyam namely the anil sEvai

initiative that "thoo nilA muRRAm" postings and 100's of never

give up and reach out even remote by phone calls approach, and

help from several members, we have collected close to $7500

and from Singapore Rs 65000 and from Bahrain, Kuwait and the

rest of all mideast countries Rs 42000 and India Rs 15000

(approximately). The main chunk of the money approx. Rs240,000

was allotted for Sri Sudarshana kavacham & Sudarshana hastham.

 

As you all may know, it is more than a boon to get to provide

this kavacham to perumAL. Only chosen one can do so especially

when we know that this is "THE" kshEthram where the hub of the

Sri Chakram is lying and where thirumazhisai AzhwAr (amsam of

Sri Sudarshana chakram) did saranAgathi to the Lord and where

the brindAvan of Sri thiru mahisai AzhwAr is present (on the

side of Sri Amudhan's holy feet) near Sri Amudhan and where

Sri Sooryan installed a temple for Sri Sudarshana AzhwAr as

commaded by Sriman nArAyanA HIMself. Luckily a donor dropped

at the last minute and hence we had the opportunity to pick

this up. Further part of Rs 80,000 have been put in the FD as

a part of the Rs 8lacs FD that was the overall remaining from

temple collections and some monies were spent on samprOkshanam

expenses. Rs 72000 have been used for co-sponsoring the brass

kavachams or the brass plates that are provided to the main

shrines of thAyAr and perumAL's thiru thEr.
