Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy ============================================================= Challenge 3.10: "IF YOU ARE REALLY VARADA, PROVE IT NOW!" ============================================================= kim vyAharAmi varada sthuthayE katham vA khadhyOthavath pralagu sankuchitha prakAsah: / thanmE samarpaya mathim cha saraswatheem cha tvAmanjasA sthuthi padai: yadaham dhinOmi // (Sri VaradarAja PanchAsat SlOkam 4) Meaning " Oh! Varada! PEraruLaLa! What is Your name? You call yourself varadan and pEraruLaLan. What do these mean? They mean that you are the one reputed for granting boons. Now, my knowledge is no better than the light of a firefly.(khadhyOthavath) With this I amstruggling to find out how and in what words I could attempt to praise you. True to your names, you have to bestow on me both knowledge (Matham) and expression (Saraswatheem) in my effort" Comment SwAmi plays upon the names of the Lord to imply that if he does not bestow the boons asked for, He would not deserve the names denoting "bestower of boons"- (Varada and pEraruLALa) A clever way to extract boons from the Lord! ============================================================= To Continue Challenge 3.11: "YOU ARE MY INDWELLER?
