It is my pleasure to forward you a private note

summarizing the NAMA Special celbrations

at Singapore for the Senai MudaliyAr (Sri VishvaksEnar

and Sri MaNavALa MaamunigaL ) .It is indeed an exemplary

session .

 

The report is sent by Sri Haresh Balasubramanian,

a devout Sriman NaarAyaNa BhakthA who has

created the lovely Home pages for Sri KrishNA ,

Sri Vedantha Desikan and Sri MaNavALa Maamuni .

I am delighted to learn about the plans for

the creation of special home pages for Sri VishvaksEnar

in the near future by BhakthAs from Singapore .

>Today the devotees of Simhapuri gathered at the residence

>of Sriman Amal Narasimhan for the celebration of Manavala

>Munigal and Senai Mudaliar's Thirunkshatram.

>The event began with distribution of an article

>"The Life and Works of MaNavaala Mamunigal by

>Dr V.Sadagopan, New York".Some preliminary

>discussion was held on the kalyanagunams of

> Manavala Munigal and his devotion to Acharya

>Ramanuja by Sriman Madhavakkannan Vasudevan.

>Sri Madhavakkannan also made a short announcement

>on the Livermore Celebrations and the launching of

>Manavala Munigal's homepage.

>At approximately 3.15 pm the group started the

>Dhivya Prabandha Parayanam with chanting of

>Ramanuja Dayapatram Srisailesa Dayapatram,etc

>followed by Thiruppallandu, Thiruppaliyezhuchi ,

>Thiruppavai, Amalanathipiran and 10 selected

>verses from MM's Aarti prabandham.Follwing this

>were two short speeches on Vishvakesena ( by Sri

>Madhavakkannan) and Manavala Mamunigal

>( by Amal Narasimhan).

>After the speeches were completed the children

>of Smt Malini Sridhar Kesavan and Kanchana

>sang beautifully two carnatic music pieces

>in praise of Perumal .An announcement

>on the distrubution and sale of Ramanuja

>CD ROM was also made and Sriman Vijayakumar

>distributed two articles ( one on Daya Satkam

>and one on Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam by Sri

>Seshadri -who is distributing pamphlets on Desika's

>works in Sri Rangam and other places in india).

>Thaligai Samarpanam was conducted and Sattrumurai

>(with shlokas for Desikan and Mamunigal)was

>led by Amal and Madhavakkannan.

>The event was concluded with the chanting of

>Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram and

>mangalasasanams to both Sri Vara Vara

>Muni and Swami Desikan.
