Guest guest
Sri: SrimathE Ramanujaya Namah: Dear Sri Sampath, The very quality of Srivaishnavan is to say "aiyO!" when one sees someone suffering. We need to empathise with the sufferers. I agree with you. Let us all pray to Sriya: Pathi Sriman Narayanan for the innocent victims of the drama. As appealed by Sri Samapth, let us all recite Sri Vishnu sahasranamam at after saayam sandhyavandhanam today at our respective homes. Adiyen too has been following the ordeal that our unfortunate fellow-brethren trapped in the hijacked Indian Airlines plane in Afghanistan have been going through for the past 4 days. May I please request all of you (who are so inclined) to please recite the "Vishnu-SahasranAmam" for their benefit and pray to the Almighty to please deliver them from the living hell they are presently in? adiyen strongly believes in the efficacy of the SahasranAmam in such situations. adiyen thanks one and all! Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas I fully agree with Sri Sampathkumar that we should pray for the safety of the unfortunate victims. In this connection, I have one suggestion to make. Sri Anjaneya is known for saving those on the brink of death. 1. He saved Lakshmana by bringing the Sanjeevi mountain, when he lay motionless on the verge of death. 2. He saved Sri Sita Piratti when she was so dejected as to contemplate committing suicide. 3. He saved Bharatalwar, when he was about to enter the fire ordeal in PrayOpavesa. I have personally experienced several instances of the miracle of saving by Sri Anjaneya. There is a particular Slokam which is found very simple but very effective in such circumstances. It reads as follows: "asAdhya sAdhaka swAmin, asAdhyam thava kim vadha / rAma dhootha kripA sindhO: math kAryam sAdhaya prabhO:// Let each one of us resolve to recite this Sloka as many time as possible (1008 / 108 / 28 / 10) to the best of our ability and circumstances and pray to him to rush the much needed succor to these victims. Hopefully, if we do this with sincerity, he will respond immediately. Let us also resolve to offer our thanks to Sri Hanuman on the Hanumath Jayanthi day that falls on 6th January 2000 in whichever way we find it possible individually. Within an hour after receiving the above message and just a few minutes ago adiyen learnt that the ordeal in Afghanishtan is over and after 7days of being kept hostage and blindfolded inside an aircraft, the poor passengers will be let off soon in the next few hours!! Like thousands of others all over the world, perhaps, the list members too decided to pray for the release by reciting the Vishnu=sahasranAmam or select shlOkas from the Sundara-kAndam or shlOkas invoking Anjaneya... those prayers seem to have been answered! regards, dAsan, Sampathkumaran Talk to your friends online with Messenger. http://messenger. Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas It is a happy announcement that the hostages are being freed. The moment we think of Sri Hanuman, miracles do happen. Let us recite the slokam given earlier as many times as possible on 6th January 2000 by way of offering thanks to Anjaneya. Guest guest
There is nothing miraculous in the release of the hostages, especially since the Indian Govt. has released 3 dreaded terrorists in exchange of hostages. Moreover, the 6 hijackers, who murdered an innocent Indian man have got away scot free. These dreaded 9 terrorists will kill how many more innocents, the Lord only knows. The Lord only knows if there is a repeat of Malik Kafur's sack of Sri Rangam pending in future. In my humble opinion, we should not trouble our Lord by praying to him for everything. We should rather try to prevent such situations from recurring in future. In this particular case, we will do well to make ourselves aware of the haunting sceptre of implacable Islamic terrorism over the globe. By thoughts might be resented by numerous Bhagvatas, but as I see, Sri Krishna has asked us to 'Mamanusmar yuddjyacha' i.e. remember me and FIGHT. Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas I am amazed at the negative interpretation of VAgarwalV. Just imagine the possibility of all the hostages being done to death at the casual trigger of the gun or a deliberate massacre by thoughtless fanatics. For what we know from the reports of the hostages arriving at IGI Airport, this was quite almost a certainty feared by one and all. In the circumstances, the release of the terrorists might have been a small price paid for the release of 155 passengers. Only if we pray for our own benefit does it become Kaamyaartham. When prayers are offered for the sake of Loka kshemam (which includes the hostages), God will not take it amiss. If it were not the saving grace of Lord, what else can we expect than this macabre eventuality? How do we meet with God except in prayer? In the present instance, I believe God has really answered the prayers and this requires no more proof. Let us learn to think positively and offer our thanks to Sri Anjaneya on Hanumat Jayanthi day (6th January 2000) Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy

Sir, The English poet once wrote, "More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of." And, Sir, please don't bother about putting our Lord to any great "trouble"! Adiyen feels the Lord's "trouble" is not too much prayer from worldly quarters! It is too little! dAsan, Sampathkumaran Talk to your friends online with Messenger. http://messenger.
