Today April 12, the day of Panguni-Pushyam in tamil calendar is the

thirunakshatram of His Holiness Srimad Vedanta Ramanuja Mahadesikan

called as Thirukudanthai Andavan. This Acharya Sarvabhowman hailing from

Kudanthai (Kumbakonam) was in the sanyasa ashramam in this Srirangam

Srimad Andavan Acharya paramaparai from 1964 till 1989. Swami Desikan

says in Adikara Sangraham "En Uyir thandhu alithavaria saranam

pukku...", about an Acharya's important role. In offering the

salutations to all the poorvacharyas upto the Lord Himself, he first

offers it to the acharyan saying He is the one who gives the life to the

atma and protects it. Swami Desikan also says later in the same work,

"YeRRi manathu yezhil gnana vilakkai irul anaithum Marrinavarku or

kaimmaru mayanum kanagillan" ie even if Perumal Himself tried, He cannot

pay back the Acharyan for the favour an acharyan does to a sishyan.

Many fortunate ones on this email list have add their samashrayan

pefromed by HH Thirukudanthai Andavan and some even more fortunate

people on this list peformed Prapatthi under this acharyan's feet.

Acharyans should be remebered everyday by recitation of their thanian

and especially on the thirunakshatram days. Srimad Thirukudanthai

Srirangam Srimad Ashramam is celebrating the thirunakshatram at Alwarpet

Ashramam in a grand manner with events like Vidwath Sadas where more

than 100 vidwans in various sastras will be honored. 300 Veduc scholoras

have assembled for the past 1 week participating in Veda parayanam,

divya prabhandam and grantha parayanam and recitation of Peria

Sattrumurai.

 

Sri Ramanuja Mission of Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam is celebrating

HH Srimadh Thirukudanthai Andavan Thirunakshatram on April 15, Saturday

in New Jersey at the residence of Sriman Murali Thirumalai starting at

9.00 AM. We will have Perumal Thiruvaradhanam, Paduka Aradhanam for HH

Thirukudanthai Andavan's paduka, recitation of Nithyanusantham,

Sattrumarai, Theertham followed by recitations of all Poorvacharya

Thanians, Gadya Thrayam, Few padhathis of Paduka Sahasram,

Sudarsanashtakam, and Shodasayutha Sthotram. With the acharya's grace,

we hope to perform paduka aradhanam to the padukais of all the 12 poorva

acharyas of Srimad Andavan Ashramam on that day. This is a rare

opportunity to have here in the US. Your are all invited to come WITH

YOUR FAMILY for this important event and celebrate our acharyan's

thirunakshtram and get the grace and blessings of our acharyas.

Also it is customary to offer Sambhavanai to one's acharyan on the

thirunakshatram day. Sri Ramanuja Mission is appealing to the sishyas to

contribute your mite as a sambhavani to your acharyan. These

contributions will be mailed to the Ashramam next week with the list of

contributors and the amount of contributions and acknowledgement with

Srimad Anadavan's Akshathai will be sent from Srimad Andavan Ashramam.
