Dear bAgawathAs,

manal ellAm ponnAga parantha mAyam

 

First Simple meaning: It is the banks of the ponni nathi or

kauveri river. There are beautiful shady sOlais or gardens all

through the banks of the river. All this gardens are yielding

flowers for the worship of Sri RanganAtha and Sri RanganAyaki.

Along the lines of Ponni river there are gold foils and gold

mines. In the placement map, the Kolar gold foil is there. In

reality all these pancha ranga kshEtrams are the gold mines. The

vari kuyil or a kukoo bird that has stripes in it (this kukkoo

birs has 12 thirumans all over its body) and is now about to sing

again. What a wonder, this kuyil sang "uLLangai neerpOl ennyirum

karaikinRathE" earlier in praise of Sri RanganAtha on thiru

adhyayana uthsavam. Since then the clouds have taken a little

rest. The spate in the river ponni is little less. It is kOdaik

kAlam. ie.. It is summer time.

 

The sand in the river bed is still wet in Srirangam though there

is not much of a flow these days. However, this varik kuyil sat on

the sand and was attempting to write the name of "iRamAnujar" on

the sand. What a mAyam on the "madi" of vishnu mAya itself

(Kauveri river is the incarnation of Sri Vishnu's mAyA itself).

The entire sand sheet of kauveri stretch spread into gold. This

time it was as if gold flowing all over the river and not water.

It is the effect of simply uttering Sri RamAnujAr's name itself.

They used to say that if someone take bath in kAuveri regularly

their skin color will turn into somewhat a golden color thEjas as

the gold deposits of kolar mix up with the current of kauveri in

some mysterious way. It is believed that gold dust will be seen on

the sands of kauveri due to kolar's effect. But no need for that

now as the entire "manal veLi" or "madi" or the lap or the bed of

kAuveri itself is turning into gold. Such is the power of uttering

our parama AchAryAL Sri RamAnujar's thiru nAmam.

 

adiyEn is an oridnary bAgawathA yearning for perumAL's and

AchAryA's grace constantly. Due to Angyai of perumAL and

bAgawathAs adiyEn attempted to write earlier on Sri Oppiliappan,

Sri Azhagar, Sri Arangan, Sri Amudhan and Sri naraiyoor nambi. But

somehow the ink in pen known as my thought was either a "kAttu

veLLam" or thick clouds or pouring rain of that sort. When adiyEn

was asked to write on Sri RamAnujar such ink or "mai" turned

everything into gold! enna mAyam. adiyEn will attempt to write

once again, this time around it is on our parama AchAryAL and

the grantham known as Sri RamAnuja noRRu anthAthi.

note: (*) adiyEn never write on adiyEn's own icchai. adiyEn always

attempt to do all these offering on perumAL only as per perumAL's

thiru uLLam conveyed to adiyEn directly or through prapannAs. This

time around some prapannAs want adiyEn to write on this nool. One

can easily write on perumAL. In fact prathi vAthis who has

viswAsam to both perumAL and as well as dEvathAnthrams also write

on perumAL. But it is only a select few with mAhA viswAsam as

their "swAsak kARRu" (breath) are born and ordained to write on

AchAryALs. adiyEn donot know why adiyEn who donot qualify with any

anushtAnam was selected for this task by periyavALs and prapannAs.

adiyEn prays to all AchAryAs and all prapannAs to bless this poor

soul to succeed in this task. adiyEn will attempt to pour adiyEn's

golden anubavams that adiyEn is begninning to experience from the

moment adiyEN simply attempt to utter Sri RamAnujar's name itself.

adiyEn will mainly write adiyEn's own anubavams given by AchAryA

bhakti. adiyEN will as well cite from vyAkyAnams of Sri ManavALa

mA munigaL, Sri Prathi vAthi bayankaram SwmigaL, Sri Utthamoor

SwamigaL's prabhandha rakshai, whenever adiyEn is promopted by

perumAL to quote such. Please be prepared for a "gAnam" from this

varik kuyil (Sri RamAnuja gAnam) while reading Sri irAmAnuja noRRu

anthAthi vyAkyAnams, the most exclusive of all the prabhandams in

this series.
