Guest guest
Sri Raamajayam SrimathE GopAla DEsika MahaDEsikAya Namaha Dear Bhagavathaas, There are a number of great Bhagavathaas who have touched upon the issue of Prapatthi and how indispensable it is for us if we consider Moksha as our final destination for eternal happiness. In this aspect it was nicely explained who is God, how to reach him, what is the easiest way, and most importantly what is the procedure in keeping to that way. All these augur well, to a mind that is curious and sensible enough to think what is good and what is bad. Those who perform Prapatthi and do a multitude of sins, would definitely face the consequences of Karma in this life itself, even though they will attain Moksham after Dehaavasaanam. This philosophy and also having the conscience to present ourself in good shape to our dear friend/father/mother/relation/asset "Paravasudeva", Sriman Naarayana, always keeps a Bhagavathaa mostly a Satvika focussed on Bhagavad/Bhaagavatha Kaimkaryam(As we would normally choose the appropriate physical attire for a beach or for an interview or a temple). This kind of mindset comes to some people when they are 8, a few more in their teenage and generally the masses when they reach oldage, depending on their level of Spiritual expectations and knowledge/exposure. Now a baby is born, and ofcourse our beloved Acharyas out of their great compassion, and confidence in us Bhagavathaas, offers to perform Prapatthi to that Jeevan also. I have two concerns on this, 1.It makes Prapatthi automatic(without the Jeevan seeking it) 2.The Jeevan, not realizing the great boon it is bestowed with, continues to toil and sin in Samsaara as a child/youth/adult and faces the consequences in this life itself, causing distress to even the souls which were greedy to reserve 'Moksha' for this soul. This way I have seen some Prapannas even being left puzzled, "what is this, why should I deserve this fate..." I would rather think the Jeevan is, Provided good guidance by parents and left to educate, think, choose and decide what it wants to do towards its eternal happiness. AdiyEn would assume, a consensus on this topic, would help us raise a new generation of Sri Vaishnavites, as a society. I would appreciate comments from Bhagavathaas.
