Dear Bhagavathaas,

Last weekend we were discussing a peculiarity for Munithraya Sampradayam that,

this time Ashtami-Rohini Convergence ends before Chandrodayam on Tuesday and how

should

we celebrate it according to Sastras.

Ideal

After Suryodhayam, Ashtami-Rohini occuring whole day/night

Else

After Chandrodayam, Ashtami-Rohini Convergence

Else

Ashtami-Rohini convergence

 

AdiyEn discussed the exact timings for Ashtami, Rohini and Chandrodayam, with

Sri Poundareekapuram Srimad Andavan Ashram, Sri GopAla Desika MahadEsikan, and

Swamin suggested we celebrate on Tuesday(last of the above cases). As for

Sri.Ahobila Mutt and Thenkalai Paramparyam, they would celebrate it on

Wednesday.

 

Please note this is valid for US Bhagavathaas only, and for Singapore & India, I

guess Sri.Krishna Jayanthi is on Wednesday(including Madam, Thenkalai

Sampradayam in USA) without ambiguity.

 

If a Bhagavathaa from Munithraya Sampradayam want to cross-check this with their

Acharya/other sources, AdiyEn would humbly request, to include the Ashtami,

Rohini, Chandrodayam local timings in their discussions, to get the correct

answer.
