Guest guest
Dear Bhaktas, Dasavataras of Sriman Narayana are well known. But what are His other Avataras ? His Avatara as Sri Hayagriva was recently elaborately explaind by Sri Sadagopan and Sri Madhavakkannan. Can anyone narrate when Sri Narayana took Hamsavatara as mentioned in Divyaprabhandam? adiyen, Kalyani.R
Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Gopaladesika mahadesikaya Namah: Dear Smt Kalyani, The Hamsa (swan) avtaar took place also for retrieving Vedas. The forms (avtaars?) are generally are Para, vyuha, vibhava, archa and antharyaami. Avtaar means coming down. It is not "non- vedic". Purusha suktha says "ajAyamaanO bahudhA vijAyathE"- who is not born takes many births". The Lord can simply by His will (being Sarvashakthan), can destroy asurAs and protect dharmA. But He comes down for our enjoyment too. He takes archA avtaars in the Divya Desams for our enjoying his Divine Beauty. It is told that there are about 36 avtaars as per Vishvaksena samhitha while there are also 39 as per Pancharathra text. In addition to the popular ten avtaars, others are: Nara, Narayana, Hari, trivikrama, Hamsa, Hayagriva, Kapila, Viswaroopa, Vaamana deva, Vedavid, Paarijathara, Dattaatreya, PaataaLa sayana to name few. Erudite scholars may add further please Regards Narayana Narayana adiyEn Dear Bhaktas, Dasavataras of Sriman Narayana are well known. But what are His other Avataras ?
