Guest guest
I am accepted as a member two days ago. My name is Ramadurai. I hail from Tirukkannamangai, one of the 108 Divya Desams. This place is 4 Km from Tiruvarur. I am a Shishya of Sri Ubha Ve. Agnihotram Ramanuja Tatachariar Swami of Tirukkudanthai. I am somewhat familiar with some Pasurams of Nalayira Divya Prabhandham. Our village is blessed by the Tiruvadi Sambandham of Tirukkannamangai Aandan and Tirumangai Azhwar, though I am not very much conversant with all their works. I do not know any Sanskrit and that is the biggest handicap I have in pursuing our Traditions well. I think the introduction has become too long and hence I stop with this. Looking forward to gaining from the knowledge of the group members Adiyen Ramadurai Dasan
Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Tamanujaya Namah: Dear Sri Ramadurai, welcome to the list. You wrote: >I do not know any Sanskrit and that is the biggest handicap I have in pursuing our Traditions well. Sanskrit is no doubt is a MAJOR PLUS in getting to know /learn the tradition. BUT.. our SWEET tamil is there for our anubhavam. Due to adiyE's no jnAnam in sanskrit, no amount of explanation appeals to me as much as simple utterance of "emmanaa en kula deivamE.. ennudai naayakanE.. nin uLLEnaayp peRRa nanmai ivvulagil yaar peruvaar?":. how sweet! We can get to know /learn all our Vedic knowledge and traditions from Araa amudhu- 4000. I am not saying this. Swamy Desikan says: theLiyaadha maRainilangaL theLiginROmE.. In fact, our AzhwArs have blessed us with the essence of Vedas. You also wrote that you know a bit of 4000."Vedham anaitthukkum vitthu"- the seed of all Vedas is Tiruppaavai. I am sure you know that. "vEdam anaittukkum vittAkum kOdai tamizh" is how SrI vEdappirAn bhaTTar praises tiruppaaai". Welcome again.
