Guest guest
Friends, I really enjoyed reading the articles by Dr. VN Vedantadesikan. Thanks to Sri Sadagopan for posting these. He writes about "adhering to canons of linguistics, etymology, and diction" while interpreting the pranava. He also describes the standard interpretation in our tradition -- A for Brahman and M for the jiva. I wonder what is systematic about this interpretation. In fact why should there be a systematic way of interpreting a short word like the praNava. Could someone shed some light on this? I understand that the standard interpretation is very useful for the purpose of contemplation. I only wonder why the interpretation is systematic. -Kasturi
