Guest guest
Sri: Dearest Srivaishnavas, SrIsailEsa dayApAthram dhee bhakthyaadhi guNArNavam/ yatheendra praNavam vandhE ramyajAmAtharam munim// aippasi moolam (1st Nov) is Sri MaNavALa mAmunigaL Thirunakshathram. I was reading last night the Arthi prabhandham of Sri Manavala MamunigaL. What a beautiful prabhandham full of naichyanusanthanam. More applicable to me. One pAsuram especially appealed to me most which I would like to share with you all. then arangar seer aruLukku ilakkAga peRROm thiruvarangan thiruppadiyE iruppAga peRROm manniya seer mARan kalai uNavAga peRROm madurakavi soRpadiyE nilaiyAga peRROm What an excellent one! (Please forgive me for my free translations and its errors) (We are blessed as the recipients of mercy and dayA of Sri Ranganathan of Srirangam; We are blessed wih the abode of those steps of Lord Ranganathan's temple; We are blessed with the divine food which is those compostions of Sri SatakOpan -NAMMAZWAR. We are blessed with the teaching of MAdhurakavi AzhwAr - (which is Pay obeisance to your sadAchAryan; who is equal to the Lord Himself, if not more. dhEvu maRRuaRiyEn) srImathE ramyajAmAthru munIndrAya mahAthmanE/ srIranga vaasinE bhUyaath nithyasreer nithya ma~ngaLam// Swamy Desikan, Sri Manavala mamunigaL ThiruvadigaLE SaraNam Narayana Narayana adiyEn Narayana dAsan Madhavakkannan PS: As followers of Sri Ramanujacharya, though belonging to subsects, as sishyas of our respeective AchAryAs, we all belong to the GREATEST UNAMIBUOUS FULLY VAIDIKA Sri Ramanuja sampradayam. There are extremely subtle, minor different schools of interpretation and thought among these subsects and NOT ON THE UNPARALLELED SRI VAISHNAVA VISISHTADVAITHA SIDDHANTHAM- Sri RAMANUJA's PHILOSPOPHY. We are (at least I am) too lowkikas running amuck after material pursuits, to glorify those minor differences and quarrel amongst us (IGNORING the Common MAJOR PHILOSPHICAL ONES) being the cause for not keeping the tradition alive. Let us follow our AchAryas' teaching in our homes with our family and fellow sishyas of our AchAryan, and while we are with other subsects, let us shed those "minor" differences and recite the COMMON slokas, pAsurams, thaiyans etc.. Thus, we can be the little (but strong) cause for KEEPING THE TRADITION ALIVE.. UNITED WE WIN. DIVIDED WE FALL. _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
