I think the posting gave different meanings to members than what was intended. Here I would like to clarify the intended meaning in other words : Firstly, I was not interested at all to claim or point out which one is the holiest river and which is lesser in degree of its purity etc. I mentioned kaveri because a reference was made by one of the Alwars similar to that of Yamuna mentined in Thiruppavai. Next, the central point of my posting was to establish that Alwars/Nayanmars won't have really discriminated the rivers and other holy places with their conscious efforts of doing it so. At different point of time, for one reason or the other, all these entities gained some kind of significance out of compassion and grace of the God and those were expressed through saints' songs and compositions. While enjoying their Oneness state with the Supreme Being, they also narrated in their songs & compositions that how a particular entity gained significance and its direct attachment/relation to God. In my last posting also I pointed out that the God through his various manifestaions, one or other time gave significance to a particular kind of form. This in general helped devotees to approach Him through whatever form they got attracted to. Something similar to this, depending on the place, time and/or context natural entities were elated/glorified ( by His ThiruvuLam) through the great saints' songs and compositions . I hope this clarifies the meaning of my earlier posting. Obsevations and other interpretaions on this subject is entirely AdiyEn's. I invite members to correct me in case I am wrong and also request members to provide additional information. Adiyen Balaji K
