Guest guest
SrI: NamO NarayanA Dear Sri Vaishnavas: There has been quiet a few exchanges on Kaimkaryam to help our brothers & sisters in Gujarat at this hour of need. AdiyEn is sure that many of us have been contributing in cash & kind. AdiyEn thinks of another kaimkaryam and thinks it will be of significant value. RECITATION of SRI SHODASAYUDHA STHOTHRAM It is said that Swami Sri Desikan wrote Sri Shodasayudha Sthothram to cure the people of Thirupputkuzhi of an epidemic. Similarly, since our brothers & sisters in Gujarat face the possibility of an epidemic, it would be the best to seek our Lord Sriya:Pathi Sriman Narayana to save them. We, Sri Vaishnavas, can take a sankalpam to recite [say for next 30 days] Sri Shodasayudha Sthothram at our homes with a specific request to save people in Gujarat. Ideally, Sri Shodasayudha Sthothram could be recited along with Sri Sudharsana-Ashtakham. AdiyEn has started this from yesterday, 2nd Feb. dAsan Anand 3rd February 2001 Srimad Azhagia Singar Thiruvadigale Saranam Shrimate Shri Seetha Ramachandra Parabrahmane Nama: ____________ Anand Sampathkumar www.malola.com Malola Software Pte Ltd Tel: +65-250 1229 Singapore, India, Malaysia Fax:+65-234 4417 ____________
Guest guest
Dear Sri Anand, >It is said that Swami Sri Desikan wrote Sri Shodasayudha Sthothram >to cure the people of Thirupputkuzhi of an epidemic. I had the same doubt about a few months. Sri U.Ve.Sadagopan mama clarified the same for me. Although the purpose of composing Sri Shodasayudha Sthotram and Sri Sudarshanaashtakam is popularly accepeted from the itihiyam point , the main purpose seems to me be that, Swami Desikan composed the two Sthotrams as a prayer to Sriman Naarayana in the form of Sudarshanar for sucess in composition of Para Matha Bhangam. 8 slokas of Sudarshanaashtakam+16 slokas of Shodashayuddha sthotram = 24 chapters of Para Matha Bhangam Has swami desikan mentioned the phalam of the slokams in the phalashruthi slokam(s) in Sri Sudarshanaashtakam and Sri Shodashayuddha Sthotram? adiyen ramanuja daasan, Malolan Cadambi "Jayatu Jayatu DevO Devakin NandanOyam"
