Vedanta Desikan Swamin: 384. svadhathE kimihaIva ranganAThO mayi thiShTan yadhi vA padhE parasmin ithi prucChasi dhEvi!nUnamasmAn maDhuraIsthvam maNipAdhukE! ninAdhaI: Oh Paaduka Devi! Evidently, You are putting to us a query, in Your sweet tone; "Is Ranganatha, while on me, in this material-packed world enjoyable and enjoying Himself, or is He better in Paramapada? (Our answer would naturally be "Here"! Because this melodious music of the Paaduka could be heard by the Nityasooris too; all can enjoy this! If in Paramapada, we humans cannot hear and enjoy) Namo Narayana, SriMuralidhara Dasan Special Notes by V. Satakopan (V.S.) (1) Sri UtthamUr Swamy's anubhavam: Oh Mani paadhukE! The Naadahm arising from You seem to query us about our opinion on our enjoyment of RanganAthan in Union with You. Your sweet sounds seem to ask us whether we prefer the enjoyment of RanganAthan in union with You here at Srirangam or in His Supreme Abode at Sri Vaikuntam. (2) The madhura ninAdhams ( sweet sounds) of Paadhukais seem to poll us about our opinions as to which aspect we enjoy the most : (a) His presence under Ranga vimAnam without adorning me or (b) his presence in a state of union with me during His sanchArams or © His state of presence at Parama Padham (ihaiva thishtan svadatE kim? Yathi vaa mayi thishtan ? Yathi vaa Parasmin padhE thishtam svadatE kim ?) ….V.S >From Martin.Gansten Wed May 23 14:09:54 2001 Return-Path: <Martin.Gansten Received: (qmail 61055 invoked by uid 7800); 23 May 2001 21:09:07 -0000 X-Sender: Martin.Gansten X-Apparently-bhakti-list Received: (EGP: mail-7_1_3); 23 May 2001 19:14:42 -0000 Received: (qmail 63139 invoked from network); 23 May 2001 19:12:16 -0000 Received: from unknown (10.1.10.142) by l7. with QMQP; 23 May 2001 19:12:16 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO nomina.net.lu.se) (130.235.132.90) by mta3 with SMTP; 23 May 2001 19:12:16 -0000 Received: from oemcomputer (mg.teol.dial.lu.se [130.235.232.218]) by nomina.net.lu.se (8.9.3/8.9.0) with SMTP id VAA29774 for <bhakti-list >; Wed, 23 May 2001 21:12:45 +0200 (MET DST) Message-Id: <3.0.6.32.20010523211315.007cf810 X-Sender: teol-mga X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Light Version 3.0.6 (32) Wed, 23 May 2001 21:13:15 +0200 bhakti-list Ramanuja as parama-yogin In-<200010160441.VAA03817 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Martin Gansten <Martin.Gansten X-eGroups-Approved-By: sgopan via email; 23 May 2001 21:09:07 -0000 At the beginning of his Srutaprakasika commentary on the Sribhashya, Sri Sudarsana Suri gives praise to Bhagavad Ramanuja in the following words: tasmai raamaanujaaryaaya nama.h parama-yogine ... I would like to know if there are other traditional eulogies on Ramanuja using the words yoga or yogin. (I am familiar with the one or two instances in Swami Desika's Yatirajasaptati.) If you are aware of any such stanzas, I would be very grateful to learn about them. Ramanuja Dasa, M.
