Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple ,Pudukkottai

This mail is intended for those devotees and other

well wishers of Sri Varadaraja Perumal in

Pudukkottai(the former princely state of

Pudukkottai,about 50 Kms from Trichy).For information

as per studies done this is a 13th century

Temple,patronised at that time by Pandya

kings.Improvements at a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs has been

carried out recently,through donations received from

local people.They are

1. 3 tier Rajagopuram in the front,

2. A new separate Thaayaar Sannathi,with vigrahams

for moolavar and uthsavar

3. A separate sannathi for Sri Chakrathazhwar

4. Renovation of other sannathis Perumal Vimanam

This temple is as per vaikanasa aagamam and vadakalai

munithrya sampradayam.Swamy Desikan, Sri Bhashyakarar

and other alwars adorn the sannathi.

Vigraha Prathishtai and Maha Samprokshanam for

this temple is now planned to take place on 1st June

2001.Yaagasaala works will commence 4 days prior to

that.Total expences is estimated to be in the range of

Rs. 5 lakhs.This has to be met only through public

donations.We are approaching the devotees spread

worldwide,to participate in this auspicious eventand

obtain the blessigs of Sri Varadaraja.

Srirangam Srimath Andavan Swamigal and Jeer swamy of

Sri Ahobila Mutt have blessed already for the

successful completion of this big event.Those,who

All the devotees are welcome to visit the temple

during this event.For information Tirumayam Divyadesam

Sri Sathyamurthy Perumal is about 10 Kms. from this

place.
