Guest guest
At the beginning of his Srutaprakasika commentary on the Sribhashya, Sri Sudarsana Suri gives praise to Bhagavad Ramanuja in the following words: tasmai raamaanujaaryaaya nama.h parama-yogine ... I would like to know if there are other traditional eulogies on Ramanuja using the words yoga or yogin. (I am familiar with the one or two instances in Swami Desika's Yatirajasaptati.) If you are aware of any such stanzas, I would be very grateful to learn about them. Ramanuja Dasa, M. Gansten
Guest guest
Dear Martin, Yes, there are other references to Ramanuja as a yogi. The one that immediately comes to mind is the Sloka-guruparamparA which is recited daily: asmad deSikam asmadIya paramAcAryAn aSeshAn gurUn SrImal lakshmaNa-yogi-pungava-mahApUrNau munim yAmunam | ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ rAmam padma-vilocanam munivaram nAtham SaTha-dveSinam seneSam Sriyam indirAsahacaram nArAyaNam samSraye || Mani P.S. Dear Friends: I still do not have email access, only Web access. I apologize to those of you who have sent me email. I will reply once my computer is properly setup (sometime next week, hopefully).
