The 12 thiruman kappu is applied in the following order Forehead, Abdomen Center, Chest, Neck middle, abdomen right , right shoulder , right neck, abdomen left , left shoulder , left neck, small back and the nape one should only use either the index finger or the ring(pavithra) finger for applying. Sri Surnam is applied between each of the thiruman kappu in the same order.
