Guest guest
Srimathae Ramanujaya Namaha Sri Vanamamalai Jeeyar Thiruvadigalae Charanam -------------- Hello All, I got into this mailing list last week and here is a short intoduction about me. My native place is Pollachi in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. Aged 26, I am presently employed in bay area, USA. Born in an orthodox Sri Vaishnavaite family, I have a feeling that there is a wide gap that exists between how we lead our day to day life (way we handle problems, situations etc..) and the Great Vaishnavite philosophy of 'Charanagathi'. 'Charanagathi' or 'Surrender' is not only something that gives us 'Mokhsha' but also brings us happiness at the present moment. (unmindful of the past and the future, between which people linger most of the times) - I mean "Immaikkum Marummaikkum ..". Surrendering every breath, every moment - good or bad, to Narayana. I guess He decides on how people should come to Him. My first bump on this way (though I 've had child hood educations on 'Sri Vishnu Sahasranama' etc..), came when I did the 'Art of Living Course' sponsored by the 'Art of Living Foundation' - a non-profit, educational foundation head quartered in Bangalore. This is a 6 day course spanning for 3 hours each day. Breathing exercises, Yoga and Knowledge formed the three pillars of this course. Talking about breathing exercises, I was taught Pranayama etc.. and most importantly 'Sudarshan Kriya' which was indeed something. Style of teaching been practised here doesnt exactly follow our Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam but I should say that it definetely increased my interests and awareness on Sri Vaishnavam and its' principles. Website is www.artofliving.org. It feels great to be a part of this e-satsang. I am sure I am going to learn a lot from you all and would like to thank you all for that, in advance. If you are aware of anyone in or around the bay area that teaches 'Nalayira Divya Prabandham'- please let me know.
