Guest guest
Respected bhAgavathas, Our weekly tele-stOthram practice under the tutelage of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy took on a somber tone yesterday evening, as Sri Jeeyar Swamy expressed his heartfelt sadness at the horrifying tragedy that has taken place here in the USA. The Jeeyar has requested all of us to sincerely pray to Sriman Narayana during our prayers, feeling that the recitation of our mantras, stOthrams and pAsurams are a means of generating His Love and Kindness to the world. He went on to state that these prayers should not just be for the victims and survivors, but for all of us to have the strength to follow the ideals of Sri Ramanuja Darshanam in serving the victims and all those who are attempting to help them in whatever way that we can. We should also pray for our enenmies, with the hopes that the Lord will give them the wisdom necessary to see the tragic error of their ways. Sri Jeeyar Swamy has directed all of us to provide donations of cash, and if possible, blood in the spirit of serving God through service to all living beings. NAMA has already set up a drive to collect funds. JETUSA has joined in this effort, as well, and has already received a pledge for US$10,000 for this effort. Donations to JETUSA can be made to: JET USA, Inc. 8370 Denali Dr. Fort Worth, TX 76137 Please make sure to indicate on the check that the donation is towards relief of the World Trade Center victims. Yesterday evening, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy dedicated the stOthrams that we are learning to the victims and to all of us such that the Lord will Shower His Compassion and Grace to overcome this seemingly insurmountable tragedy. The stOthrams that were recited were as follows: Hari ashtakam -- for Sriman Narayana's Redeeming Grace to come to all of the departed souls. KrishnAshtakam -- to invoke the Compassion of the Lord and all of the AchAryas in our hearts such that we will dedicate ourselves to good actions PanchAyudha stOthram -- to protect all of us from any danger adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Mohan
