Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Dear Srikant, The Swami whom you see in the photo is a Uttarati Vaishnvq, respected among north indians. There are many followers of Sri Ramanujacharya in North India. Most of them are shisyas of Sri vanamamali Jeeyar. Similarly many of the Nepali Sri vaishnavaas, are Sishyas of Vanamamali Jeeyar. Great Bhakats like Ramananda were inspired by Bhakthi movement of Emperumanar. As it is said in Bhagavatam, Bhakthi started from South and flown to North. Regards KM Narayanan. Guest guest
I did some surfing this morning, and found that there is an entire web site dedicated to this AchAryan: www.jagadguru.com. He and his devotees do indeed claim a connection to Sri sampradAyam, but the web site does not go into much detail on this. >From informal discussions with people from this state, I have learned that Rajasthan has several pockets of SriVaishnava communities, some of whom have direct links to AchAryas in divya dEshams in the South. Perhaps, this teacher either belongs to or follows one such group. Perhaps those among this forum who have travelled or lived in North India can enlighten us further. adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Mohan Srikant Sadagopan wrote: > I stumbled upon some pictures in Indiatimes- It has pictures of Sri > Jagadguru Ramanujacharya....who seems to be at the fore of the VHP-Ayodhya > temple construction movement. > > http://photogallery.indiatimes.com/articlelist.asp?Curpg=4&Catkey=14680217&Type=\ 0&T1= > > Can somebody throw light on who this Acharya is, so we can know more about > penetration of "our sampradaayam" in North India.. > > rAmanuja dAsan
Guest guest
Dear Sri.Narayanan: Pranams! What you have stated is true. Adiyen hails from Vanamamalai DD, and is a Sishyan of Vanamamalai mutt. Opposite to my house in Sannadhi street in that DD, there is a a small branch of that Uttaradi mutt, where Nepalis used to live. As Adiyen was in childhood days when visiting the DD from Madras those days, could not recognize it. But have learnt from my Thatha. Thanks, Adiyen, Sri Ramanuja Dasan, Ramanan Rajagopalan ------------------------------- iruppidam vaikundham vEnkatam * mAlirunchOlaiyennum poruppidam mAyanuk enbar nallOr * avai thannodum van thiruppidam mAyan irAmAnusan manathinRavan van thiruppidam * enRan idhayaththuLLE thanakkinpuRavE. -------------------------------
