Guest guest
Swamy Deshikan Thiruvadigale Sharanam !!! It is not exagerating if one might say that Swamy Deshikan is one without whom the philosophy of Ramanuja could not even be imagined in its present form today. It is but proper that his disciples adore him more than their chosen deities. Thuppul a divya desam with the presiding deity Lord Deepaprakasha has the unique distinction of being the birth place of Swamy Deshikan. During adiyEn's recent visit to Kanchipuram it was very pleasing to learn from Dr. Tatacharya that Thuppul still follows the same traditions present right from the times of Deshika, but the sad part came in when swamy said that "Deshika out of his own accord and as per the shastras decided to live on unchavritti (begging for alms) during his vibhavam (stay on Earth). But due to sheer lack of funds and resources even this tradition is almost seen in Thuppul in his archai (idol form)". The nityaradhanam (daily worship) has suffered a lot due to lack of funds.and also the persons who are involved in daily poojas, are facing problems in eking out their livelihood. Swamy Deshikan in his Rahasya-Traya-Saaram quotes from Ramanuja's work saying that one of the duties of the Srivaishnava is to support kainkaryams at the temple. In order to support the nityaradhanam at this temple, a trust has been formed. The objective is to collect funds from devotees and invest in approved securities and the interest to be utilised for temple nityaradhanam. A devotee can choose any day and that day's aradhanam shall be performed in the name of the donor or whoever he would wish to nominate like his acharyas, parents etc. The amount to be sent for a day's aradhanam is Rs 1500/- (app 30$). This is a life time investment and everyyear on the mentioned day aradhanam will be performed in the donor's name. Plans are also at present being made to send prasadams to the donors. Bhagavathas who are interested in sponsoring one day's aradhanam, kindly write to me and I shall send the form. Please fill up the form and send the cash/DD directly to the trust. The donations are tax deductible. Help preserve the greatest abode of our acharya Swamy Deshikan, where he still lives in vibhavam (as said by Dr. Tatacharya). If today anybody is proud to be a follower of Srisampradayam, it is only due to the great efforts of Swamy Deshika. In service of Swamy Deshikan Please help. adiyEn shall post a repeater every two weeks. vAzhi vyAkhyAmuddirak kai !!!
