Guest guest
adiyEn is forwarding HH Chinna Jeeyar Swami's note on Saraswathi Pooja. ====Note from HH Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swami=== Jai Srimannaryana! Vighna niva:raka Chathurdhi, Saraswathi Puja, sakthipuja etc, functions are meant for people, not for devas/gods. Whomever you feel that way, you can worship them. For instance, vighnaniva:raka is E:kadantha for saivaites, but for Srivaishnavas, Vighnaniva:raka is not E:kadantha, but vishvak se:na. so srivaishnavas worship only Vishwakse:na on Bhadhra chathurthi. It is on the same lines, on Saraswathi pujaday also, whoever you feel as vidya-prada:tha, you can worship. For Srivaishnavas there are two forms, 1. Hayagri:va and 2. Vidya Lakshmi. During Navarathri days, it is only Mother receives all the pujas. So we can better worship Goddess Vidya Lakshmi. The reference for this is from Sristhavam. Here is the slo:kam: "Lo:ke: vanaspathi bruhaspathi tha:rathamyam, yasya:h kata:ksha parina:mam Uda:haranthi, sa: bha:rathi: bhagavathi:thu yadi:ya da:si:, tha:m de:va de:va mahishi:m sriyama:sraya:maha." So Goddess Lakshmi is the one who blesses devotees with good knowldege and education. We can worship her too. Our mangalasasanams to all bhagawath bandhus =chinnjaeeyar=
