Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama:

Sri.Greg

Offering of Food to Lord is called "bhogyasana' and one of the important

steps in Bhagavat Aradhana.

It is the opinion of Sri Vaishnava elders that any food that is eaten

without offering to Lord is considered stealing His

things and considered as one of 'Bhagavat Apacharams' (Sin towards Lord)

Further, a Sri Vaishnava is expected to eat the Prasadam (After Offering

food to Lord, It should be called Prasadam) only after

he completes 'Athiti Satkaram' ie, Hospitality towards any visitors or Co

Sri Vaishnava.

Thanks

Regards

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha

Srimathe Nigamantha Mahadeshikaya Namaha

It is Described in Puranas and Agamic(Temple Rules) Texts like this.

Avahanam Thatha Snanam Alankaranthu Bhojanam

Yathraasanam cha Shayanam Shatvidha devathaarchanaha

Like anyone God has 6 works

Avahanam (Waking or Propitiating)

Snanam (Bathing)

Alankaram (Dressing)

Bhojanam (Food)

Yathra (Outing)

Shayanam (Sleeping)
