Guest guest
Dear Bhagavathas, This is the Continuation of Posting on Life History of Srimath pEriAndavan. This is the third Volume in the series. ******************************************************* Life as a GruhastA In His gruhastAsrama, Srinivasaraghavan swAmi was blessed with a girl and He immediately felt that He had fulfilled his duties as a gruhastA. In spite of resistance from His mother and wife and knowing very well that he could not convince them easily, He made his mother agree to a condition upon which his decision hinged upon. If the time of leaving was auspicious, He said He would pursue going to Srirangam to take up sanyasam otherwise He would return back to his family. It was Divya dampathi's will that He was ordained to become a sanyAsi. So when swAmi started, the Holy birds, PakshirAja – Garuda and bharadwAjam were seen in the skies. Seeing this wonderful sight, His mother immediately obliged as per His wish putting aside her personal interests. However in spite of the difficulty He faced convincing his wife, swAmi's will power ultimately triumphed in His taking up sanyAsAsrama. Taking up SanyAsa When Srinivasaraghavan swAmi went to Srirangam and prayed with Thirutthuraipoondi Andavan for sanyAsa, Swami tested Him in various ways to see whether He was ready to take up sanyAsa . Andavan swAmi commanded Him to stand in neck deep water and asked him to vow that He was fully ready for it and He had completely renounced sAmsAra bhandham. Srinivasaraghavan swAmi went a step ahead and vowed that along with that he would also forsake the idea of raising disciples. Swami was extremely pleased but requested Srimath PeriAndavan to give up the idea of not having disciples for the sake of loka bhAgavathAs’ ujjeevanam. Hence , Swami granted sanyAsam to Srimath PeriAndavan and he was given the title “Srinivasa mahA dEsikan”. ======================================================= (To be Continued ....) dAsan, vEnkatanAthan SreenivAsan Srimath Andavan Thiruvadi Sports - Coverage of the 2002 Olympic Games http://sports.
