Guest guest
Dear ShrI Mani: I was recently listening to an audio cassette of Late MukkUr Lakshmi NarasimhAchAr. I understand from Swami's upanyAsam that even Adi Sankara recommends the "Trayambakam YajAmahE...." mrutyunjaya mantra for ShrI Nrusimha upAsana. From Swami DesikA's KAmAsikAshtakam Lord Narasimha is three-eyed (tapanEndu agni Nayanaha). He is also PinAkI as he holds the bow PinAkA. Therefore many of the common epithets of SivaperumAn also applies to Lord NrusimhA. The MAdwAs who ascribe different antaryAmi forms of Lord Vishnu to other devatAs, have Lakshmi Narasimhan as the antaryAmi devata for RudrA. They have VishwambharA for VinAyakar. While all Vedic mantrAs ultimately propitiate Lord Vishnu (... KEshavam PratigatcatI), ShrI Rudram can be said to particularly please His NrusimhA form. Namakam is also chanted during Sudarshana Homam. I am yet to resolve the connection between Lord Sudarshana & Lord NarasimhA. PS BTW I was greatly moved by Swami's upanyAsam. > > >----------------------------- > - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - >To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list >Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ > > >Your use of is subject to > > _______________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
