Guest guest
Dear Members: It is said that Srii-veda-vyaasa compiled all the eigtheen puraaNa-s. Also, Sriimad vishNupuraaNa is said to have been narrated by SrI paraaSara-muni while Sriimad bhaagavata-puraaNa is said to have been narrated by SrI-sukha-maharshi. Both puraaNa-s are said to have been recorded by Srii-veda-vyaasa maharshi. In the case of Sriimad-vishNu-puraaNa, we could easily see that Srii vyaasa could have heard it from his father Srii-paraaSara-maharshi and recorded. In the case of Sriimad-bhaagavata-puraaNa, is it true that Srii- vyaasa heard it from his own son Srii-sukha and then recorded it? Also, I remember reading somewhere that Sriimad-bhaagavatam is not really on the list of eigtheen 'official' puraaNa-s. Could someone 'official' list ? Also I am wondering what Srii-vaishNava acaarya-s say regarding the status of Sriimad-bhaagavata-puraaNa. raamaanuja-daasa //Ramkumar
