Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Raghu, The following readily comes to my mind: 1. swamy desikan sthOthrams and about all his other works too: A great summary level write up is given for each of his work in the book (in ensglish) written by Prof. A Srinivasa Raghavachariar Swamy. The book title is The life and works of Sri Nigamantha Mahadesikan. It is brilliant book as an Introduction. adiyEn wrote in this list few months ago, most of the paragrpahs from this book (other than the 28 stHothrams) under the title ThUppul maNdapam kaimkaryam appeal. You can read the same in the archives. Also, the Padhuka Sahasram translation is beautifully written by Dr. VN Vedantha Desikan Swamy, and Sri Muralidhar Rangaswamy is writing that in the list for all slokas. the book has got both Tamil and English translation. The bhakti list archives (and also Srivaishnava Home page) has the English translation, summary for almost all 28 sthOthrams, written by Sri N Krishnamachari. Sri Satakopan mama has written a detailed translation for some sthOthrams like Hayagreeva sthOthram, Godhasthuthi, BhagavadhyAna sOpAnamm, SudharsanAshtakam, and others. The PeraruLALan, Sri Nrusimhapriya magazines are publishing regularly the Desikan sthOthrams translations in English. Sri V.N. Vedantha Desikan had written English translation of Yatjiraja Sapthathi (which Sri Achutharaman has placed in Sri Ramanuja web page under Works on Ramanuja. (http://members.tripod.com/~sriramanuja ) asmadhAchAryan had relased seven cassettes on Yathiraja Sapthathi- in very simple easy to understand style. It is also relased as a book in Tamil. Trust it helps Regards Namo Narayana aDiyEn dAsan Original Message Follows---- "nivedana" <rmudumbai bhakti-list bhakti-list Re: need help on swami desikan's works.
