Guest guest
Dear Bhagavad Bhaktas, It is adiyen's opinion that Srushti actually means Expansion as opposed to Creation. Lord Krishna in the BG confirms to Arjuna that He as the Lord, Arjuna and all other kings have been in existence in the past and will continue to exist in the future also. Swami Dayananda Saraswati also in his 'Sathyartha prakasha' clearly quotes Vedas and establishes that the material world (Achit), Jivas (Chit) and Ishwara are different and eternal. The Mundakopanishath declares that this world is created by the Purusha (God) just like a Spider creates its web from its own body and then takes it back (Big bang and Big crunch!!) and like the hairs that grow on a man's body and like the plants that grow on the earth. In all the examples nothing is created newly. The spider web comes out of the spider itself, hairs cannot grow wihout a root and plants cannot grow without a seed. They all get manifested, sustained and finally go back to their origin, that is God himself. Thus all the Jivas (along with their Karmas) will be in their unmanifested state inside the Lord's body and at the beginning of the kalpa He expands ( Ajayamano bahudha vijayate) and gives names and forms to all the living and non-living entities. Now Why God does all this? Thats the only way we can workout or undo our karma.God out of his immense mercy is giving us an opportunity to perform our rightful duties (Dharma) and thus acquire True Knowledge through our Guru and finaly realise and reach Him. He is so impartial that He does'nt want to interfere in the Jiva's little freedom and the Jiva has the choice to make between Dharma or Adharma.Even this little freedom of the Jiva is not real because his decisions again are influenced by his own past karma and vasanas. By doing Satvika tyagam we have to surrender our ego (so called doership) and perform Dharma as a Kainkaryam to the Ultimate Purusha or God who is All inclusive (including our selves). Guest guest
SriRama Jayam Dear suresh I agree with your points. I would like to say something. Big Bang theory is valid on the assumption that universe came into being at some finite time(time is still relative acc. to physicists nobody talks about absolute time which Lord krSNA talks). There is something called Olber's paradox. Acc. to this, universe did not exist forever otherwise you would see the entire sky bright even in the night which you don't see(it's dark in the night!). Nobody knows what exactly happened within first few secs of the Big Bang. It assumes that universe was like a small ball with tremendous energy (nuclear forces are dominating the gravity but still you need both Relativity and Quantum mechanics to explain the very initial status of Big Bang). There is a nice book by a Nobel Laureate Steven Weinberg on "first three minutes". Energy is so enormous b'coz of the infinite density. The so called expanding/contracting model of the universe(which has taken ideas from Big Bang)doesn't talk about nothingness. When the universe contracts, physicists mean a point with infinite density. All the molecules are condensed in a small space that short range forces like(nuclear forces)are dominating the long range forces(gravity). It starts losing energy(due to nuclear)through burning and slowly gets cooled as the temperature gets reduced (Energy=mass*light speed*light speed, acc to special relativity, also energy is proportional to 4th power of temperature acc to Stefan's law). Too much of physics. Let's forget all this nonsense. Note:THere is a series of discussion between a quantum physicist David Bohm and the philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurthy in a book called "Ending of time". Both are advaitins. The tragedy is that the physicist misses an important point in research namely "quantitative aspect" when he tries to compare the Whole and the Part and equates the two perfectly by giving holography as an example. To quote your own spider example, spider forms/creates the web from the available ingredients within itself and also knows how to produce/form that web. You can't call that process as an expansion. It's a production/creation. The same Lord krSNA says in BG that HE is the author of the vedas. HE doesn't mean that He expands vedas. He represents vedas. I think in Srimad Bhagavatham PerumAL says "I pervade everything but nothing pervades Me"! Main point: karmA/jIvA wrt God. Consider your plant example. Let's assume that plants come from the seed. Seed is the starting point in the manifested form. Who created the seed? Let's assume that God created the seed. In unmanifest form, the seed was inside Him. Where is the question of karmA of seed in unmanifested form? In unmanifested form HE alone exists. Only in manifested form there are many,of course all are real. It's meaningless to talk about karma in unmanifested form. It's very weird. Nobody is going to live that long to witness anything. Blessed are those who have pure love(it's easy to say but difficult to develop!) for Sriman NArAyaNa. Forgive me for saying too much on physics(It's not a physics forum) Only God can answer this question. Guest guest
Namaste, According to our Sri Ramanuja darshanam, This Entire Universe is the body of God or Sriman Narayana. As the Lord is beginningless, this universe consisting of living and non living things, being His body is also eternal. The Purusha suktam clearly states that this Universe forms one portion of the Lord and the other three portions are beyond human comprehension and divine. In the dhyana slokam of Sri vishnu sahasranamam "Anthastham yasya vishvam sura nara khaga go..." it is said that this vishva or universe including the devathas, humans, etc., are all in Him and He has all the three worlds as His body. The Swethaswatara Upanishad (4:5) states that : " The Prakriti, the soul and God all of them are uncreated.they are the cause of the whole universe. They have no cause of the whole universe and have been existing eternally. The etarnal soul enjoys the etarnal matter and is wrapped up in it while God neither enjoys it nor is He wrapped in it." Lord Krishna in the BG (2-28) clearly states that All created beings are unmanifested in the beginning, Manifested in the interim and will be unmanifested again after annihilation. >From All this it is clear that Jivas and Jagat are beginningless entities and they are inseperable from God, exist in God as His Shareeram or Body. The Unmanifested state is something beyond time (or where time comes to a stand still). It is something which we can never think with our minds. At the beginning of the Kalpa, the Lord brings out the universe into its manifest form and Space, time,Name and Form will start from this point. Thus Creation as explained earlier is the merciful act of Srinam Narayana who gives a manifested form to this Universe to enable we Jivas to work out our Karmas. As long as we have the Ahankara and Mamakara in us we will be bound by the Karma.
