Guest guest
Post 25 Dear Sri vaishnava prunthagaiyeer, Let us deal with the meanings and points on the krithi of annamaachaarya, we saw in the previous post first. Pallavi: naaraayaNaaya namO namO naanaathmanE namO namO ee rachalanE evvaru dhalasina iha para manthramulindhariki [naaraayaNaaya] meaning: prostration to you, oh lord naaraayaNaa, the distinct soul. If somebody contemplates / thinks on the contents of these works, then those thoughts will become the manthraas for the welfare of those persons for this world and other world - [iham or param, immai and marumai]. charaNam 1: gOvindhaaya namO namO gOpaalaaya namO namO BhaavajaguravE namO namO praNavaathmanE namO namO DhEvEsaaya namO namO dhivyaguNaaya namO namO ee rachalanE evvaru dhalasina iha para manthramulindhariki [naaraayaNaaya] meaning: prostration to you - oh gOvindhaa, - oh gOpaalaa, - oh father of manmathan, the god of love - oh the inner soul of the praNavam, the omkaaram - oh the lord of demigods or the dhEvaas - oh the lord who has celestial or exemplary characters If somebody contemplates / meditates on the contents of these works, then those thoughts will become the manthraas for the welfare of those persons for this world and other world - [iham or param, immai and marumai]. charaNam 2: dhaamOdharaaya namO namO DharaNeesaaya namO namO sree mahiLaapathayE namO namO sishtarakshaNE namO namO vaamanaya thE namO namO vanajaakshaaya namO namO eemEralanE evvaru dhalamsina iha para manthramulindhariki [naaraayaNaaya] meaning: prostration to you - oh dhaamOdhara - oh the lord of this dharaNi, the earth - oh the lord of the dharani the dhEvi - bhoodhEvi - oh the husband of that special woman - sthree rathnam "sree" or mahaa lakshmi - oh the protector of the disciplined - oh the dwarf lord vaamanaa - oh the lotus eyed If somebody limits their thoughts on these lines, then those thoughts will become the manthraas for the welfare of those persons for this world and other world - [iham or param immai and marumai]. charaNam 3: paripoorNaaya namO namO praNavaagraaya namO namO chinthana sree vEnkatanaayaka sEshasaayinE namO namO narakadhvamsaaya namO namO narasimhaahvaya namO namO yiravuga nee gathi nevvaru dhalamsina iha para manthramulindhariki [naaraayaNaaya] meaning: prostration to you oh the complete one oh the frontal of the praNavam the omkaaram oh sri vEnkata naayakaa oh the lord who is reclining on the snake aadhi sEshan oh the one who can quell living in hell oh the one who has called the lion-man god - narasimha, whoever thinks of you as the upaayam- the means, then these naamaas are the manthraas for iham and param. Points: 1. There are 20 naamaas as seen in the post. 2. A krithi containing this many naamaas is very rare. 3. I request music experts in the bhakti list to come up with some other krithis containing these many naamaas. 4. Certain naamaas are very special like - Bhaavaja guravE nama: - father of god of love- manmathaa's father - naaraayaNan. Krishna, the father of anirudhdha can also be meant here. 5. Bhakthaas can recall that sri narasimhan is invited in the wedding of srinivasan the lord of thiruvEnkatam, to accept the thiru aaraadhanam before all the guest are fed in the marriage. The poet has composed that invitation as a naama for the lord as narasimha aahvayE nama:- a classic naama. 6. See how the 2 dhEvis of the lord are called here in the krithi- dharani eesan, mahilaa sree pathi. 7. That saadhu samrakshakathvam- saving the bhakthaas- is also nicely put in a naama as sishta rakshaNE nama: 8. Thus the krithi is a very special one and that is why I wanted to share such a krithi with you all. Now continuing the krishna sthuthi by wives of kaaLiyan the next naama is Om indhriya praaNa mano bhudhdhi aasayaa aathmanE nama: Prostration to you, oh krishNa, the inner soul for all indhriyaas- the organs, praaNa- the life or soul mana: - the heart bhudhdhi - the intellect aasaa - the desire krishna is the inner soul of the all these - for indhriyaas the organs - he is the life giver, for praana- the life he is the antharaathmaa, for manas- the power giver for that thinking, for bhudhdhi the intellect the intelligence, aasaa - the desire the very creator of that desire. Oh what a way to describe krishna my lord, by these wives of a snake- what a clarity of understanding of the qualities of the lord. [As sri Krishan kashyap mentioned in his post a few days ago, "bhagavatham" - for me - in particular about krishna in dhasama skandham - simply bowls me over, - krishna krishna - the taste of enjoying you, is increasing and thus leads to increasing number of posts without this topic getting closed]. Next naama is "om thriguNEna aBhimaanEna goodasva aathma anubhoothayE nama:" It can be considered as different naamaas also as om thirguNaaya nama: , om abhimaaninE [nama:] om goodaaya [nama:] om sva athma anubhoothayE nama: prostration to you, oh lord of three characteristics, the desired of every soul, the soul secretly enjoying the pleasures arising out these gunaas. [Or just putting the other way he is the soul who through the exhibition of the three gunaas creates different moods and then enjoying the fruits of these. The 3 gunaas are sathva rajas and thamas - the moods at different times in the same person- and desires arising out of these and the enjoyer behind.] Again a simply superb way of addressing my krishna by these simple women. All because HE is in front- that makes them talk so much and so beautiful. We will continue with more such sweet naamaas of krishna in the next post. Dhasan Vasudevan m.g.
