Guest guest
Dear member, You can reach melkote from Mysore more conveniently , otherwise if you prefer to take public transport you may take a bus to Mysore from Banglore and get down at Jakkanna halli , which is at the starting point of the hill to Melkote . From Jakhanna halli you have lot of buses or mini vans which make trips into the town frequently . Another convenient route is to reach Mandya and take a bus from there directly to Melkote . Hope this helps and shubh yatra . Guest guest
Dear Sreekanth, Thanks for showing a keen interest in visiting this historical place for Sri Vaishnavas, near Mysore. The route you should take from Bangalore to Melukote is via Maddur, Mandya, Pandavapura and Jakkanahalli. The journey time is approximately 4 hours. Guest guest
Dear Srikanth , Tirunarayanpuram is quite close to Bangalore. it's about 140 Kms from Bangalore. It takes usually 3 to 31/2 hrs drive to reach that place. U need to take the Bangalore-Mysore Road till Mandya and then deviation from there as shown in the map attached. Please let me know in case u require further clarifications. Guest guest
dEar Srikanth, The Journey time to Melukote(Tirunarayanapuram) from Bangalore is approximately 3 hours. >From Bangalore you have to travel on Mysore Road towards Mysore. You will cross Ramanagaram, Chennapatna, Maddur and reach Mandya the district headquarters which the Melukote belongs to. You further travel towards Mysore from Mandya and at a distance of approximately 1 or 2 Kms you have to take a deviation towards right for Melukote which is 40 KMs from there. You should see a sign post to Melukote on the Mysore road there at the deviation. If you have doubts you can ask someone in Mandya town who will direct you towards Melukote. Hope you have a lovely darshan of Cheluva Narayana(Shelva Pillai) the presiding deity and YogaNarasimhaSwamy on the hilltop. I suggest you carry a Camera to catch the beauty of the Melukote town with the Hill Shrine and many Kalyanis. Don't forget to see the Big Kalyani near the foot of the hill and also the Akka/Tangi Kola the Kalyanis of the two sisters which is very beautiful. The beauty of Melukote is been captured in films by many including the famous director Maniratnam and actors Rajnikanth and Kamalhaasan and in many Hindi and Kannada Movies. Also you can visit Tonnur(Tondanur) where Sri Ramanuja first came and settled in Karnataka in the 12th Century. There is a very beautiful lake in Tonnur, the water of which is crystal clear. You can find a temple dedicated to NambiNarayana there. Also I suggest you visit the famous maLur Aprameya swami temple which is near Chennapatna on the way to Melukote. It is a very beautiful temple and you can find the beautiful idol of Benne Krishna there. Guest guest
Hi, The best way is to go through a KSRTC bus from KSRTC bus station. The bus timings are in tune with the temple timings.Ity leaves blore at around 7:30 a.m and reaches melkote at around 11:30 a.m. You can also go by private buses to mandya and then to melkote , but it is a longer route. For details of the KSRTC route, please enquire at the KSRTC bus station. bhakti-list, sreekanth <gomoothram> wrote: > dEar all, > can any body help me with the exact root thru which i > can go to tirunarayanapuram from banglore. root, > journy time etc. i wish to go this week > namaskarams > sreekanth > > ===== > > > > > - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup > http://fifaworldcup.
