Guest guest
Dear Bhagavata-s: I am just completing the write-up for the 700th nAma of SrI vishNu sahasra nAmam, and have a question, on which I would like your advice. I notice that both SrI Samkara and SrI BhaTTar conclude the vyAkhyAnam for each 100 nAma-s with a statement such as "Thus ends the seventh hundred names" - for example, "iti SrI harita kula tilaka SrIvatsA'nka miSra sUnoh SrIra'ngarAja divyA`jnA labdha SrI parASara bhaTTa apara nAmadeyasya SrI ra'nganAthasya kRtau SrImad vishNu sahasra nAma vivaraNe bhagavadguNa darpaNe saptamam Satakam samAptam". I would like to know the significance for this statement at the conclusion of each of the "hundred nAma-s". I know this is similar to the decads of the AzhvArs. Have our pUrvAcArya-s given us any interpretation for the importance/significance of this? -dAsan kRshNamAcAryan - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup
