Your reference to bhagavAn krushNA loving his devotees so much as to become a

charioteer of one of his friends brought pleasantly to memory a line in

tiruppukaz written in the same vein.

pattarku ratattaik kadaviya paccaip puyal meccat taku poruL.

Referring to Shri murugan as "poruL", signifying "meaning" to life,

aruNagirinAtar says that the Lord, Who is of the color of the green in a

stormy cloud (puyal) and who drove the chariot of His devotee (pattar) is

highly appreciative of ShrI murugan, who gives meaning to life.

Translation: ShrI murugan stands for worthy meaning to life that is much

appreciated by the colorful Lord, Who even though terrible like the greenish

clouds of a stormy day was also a humble charioteer to one of His devotees

[and so can be to all].

The words in the first line of the song are exactly what you chose to use in

describing an example of the love of bhagavAn. I thought that readers may

appreciate the match.

In these lines, we also notice the verb "kadavudhal": to drive. So one

meaning of the word, "kadavuL" is a person who drives our inner chariot or

car or who drives us from inside of us. He is a driver not only externally

running the universe, but also holds the reins of each individual heart.

(harI: Carried). By using the word, "kadavudhal" and not "Ottudhal",

arunagiri nAtar brings to the fore the concept: "Ishvaraha sarva butAnAm

hruddEshE tistati: God resides in the heart of all living beings."

Interestingly, you also made the same connection.

Thanks for a pleasant coincidence.

naha svIkurvaka asmAthkrupAm: Cause us, wherefore, to be endowed with Your

Grace.
