Guest guest
Dear Members of the Bhakti List, I am looking for people to take over the moderation and ownership duties of this mailing list. It's been nearly eight years since this list was started and I've slowly come to the realization that my heart is just not in it anymore. Based on member feedback I recognize that this mailing list performs a useful service, so I'd like to hand this over to good hands, preferably several hands. Here are the requirements: Technical: (1) Adequate Internet access, to easily review email and check the Web site. (2) Should be very comfortable with computers and email programs (3) Strong written English skills Preferred Background: (4) Should be comfortable in written Tamil and Sanskrit, or at least one of the two (5) At least cursory familiarity with the classics of Visishtadvaita Vedanta -- Sribhashya, Gitabhashya, Divya Prabandham, rahasya granthas of various acharyas (6) Some knowledge of Indian and Sri Vaishnava history (*not* hagiology) (7) Should be willing to be scholarly and respectful of others' views (i.e., differing philosophical interpretations) despite holding strong views of one's own (8) Should have a humanistic and scientific attitude in general If you are interested but you are not sure you meet these requirements, drop me an email anyway. You may be overinterpreting the above standards. I'd like to leave the list in the hands of three or four people preferably, but I'd be happy to turn it over to one person if that's all the interest I receive. Whoever takes over the list will have total control. I will be happy to advise for a few months but eventually I'd like to be just a member and have no official role. Note: men and women, boys and girls, are all equally welcome to respond to this request. Thanks, Mani narayana smaranam
Guest guest
Dear Members, I am still looking for candidates interested in moderating the Bhakti List. A few good people have approached me, but I need some more people to respond. In particular, I would like an open-minded follower of the Thengalai tradition who is conversant with the basic texts of Visishtadvaita to contact me. This person should be comfortable with Sanskrit. I am also looking for a woman to be on the moderator's panel. Once again, it is preferable if this person is somewhat knowledgable in Visishtadvaita and is familiar with Sanskrit. Please contact me if you meet the above description and are interested in moderating. Thanks, Mani
