Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE rAmAnujAya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, KaNNan, who was walking with faltering steps now has grown a little more and runs. So AzhwAr enjoys Him running towards “her” (YasOdhA- role) and hugs. AzhwAr calls Him “Come running and hug”.. acchO acchO.. Like the rainy cloud with a shining lustrous lightning, you come running with your foreheaded ornament (chutti) shifted to a side so charmingly (due to your running); with the musical sounds “salang; salang” from bells of the golden kiNkiNi (anklets); and hug my waist... oh my Swamy! Come and hug me. Each word is enjoyed by Poorvacharyas. Thanniyal Osai- the anklet- kiNkiNi- on its own makes such sounds as it wishes- different mixture of sounds (Due to his running). Chuttip puRankatti- the chutti is shifted to side; - and is worn by KaNNan. Yedhir vandhaarpOl- As if you come straight towards me.. Then only one can enjoy the beauty. That too.. viraindhu- running fast. Generally children- once they start walking, they always run. sengamalappoovil thEnuNNumvaNdEpOl pangikaLvandhu unpavaLavaaymoyppa sanguvilvaaLthaNdu sakkaramEndhiya angaikaLaalEvandhu_achchOvachchO aaraththazhuvaa vandhu_achchOvachchO. Like the black bees that drink the honey from the lotus flowers, those curly dark tresses on your head fall in front of your face and cover those red coral lips; with your hands, that held the bow, the chakrA, the conch, shell, the sword, come hug me. Hug me tight and fully... Here thazhuvaa is the word.. and hence it joins with other pAsurams below. panchavar_thoodhanaayp paarathamkaiseythu nanchumizhn^aakamkidandha naRpoykaipukku anchappaNaththinmEl paayndhittu_aruLseytha anchanavaNNanE! achchOvachchO aayar_perumaanE! achchOvachchO. You were so pleased that you immediately massaged her in such a way that her extra growth of flesh and bones wrongly (the hunch back) became straight and normal. Oh such great Lord! Come and huge me.. My PerumAnE! Come and hug me. In MathurA, when KaNNan and Balarama were going (to Kamsa’s place), he saw in the royal street, Thrivakrai taking sandal paste (for the king may be). KaNnan asked “This is for whom?”. She enjoyed seeing the most beautiful ThirumEni that is standing in front of her. KaNNan asks:” Give that to us and you will be blessed with all good things”. She fell for this smiling handsome Lord and forgot the anger of the king. She herself started applying the paste without any feeling of shyness (doing in the middle of street). KaNNan pleased, asked het to turn back and with one hand held her back and with other hand hugged her from behind; caught hold of her chin and pushed her from the back to make the hunch back disappear. (evvLo lucky!). It appears later she (considering her body which is made right by KaNNan – as sEshan for Him and Him alone, pulled KaNNan’s top cloth (uttharIyam) and looked at Him lovingly and KaNNan gave her a hug:-) kazhalmannarsoozhak kathir_pOlviLangi ezhaluRRumeeNdE irundhu_unnain^Okkum suzhalaipperidhudaith thuchchOthananai azhalavizhiththaanE! achchOvachchO aazhiyangaiyanE! achchOvachchO. Among the kings who all wore the victorious shoes (kazhal) surrounding You, You shone like the lustrous sun; you are the most mysterious one , who went as dhUthan (with their minds thoroughly confused and ensured that the battle would break and the kauravas would be killed); and when you, other scholars, elders like DhrutharAshtra advised, they (Kauravas) walked out of the assembly; and again, they discussed among themselves with Karna, Dhucchaasanan et al and asked you to come in with VidhurA; And DhuryOdhana tried to catch you with a trap of hollow chair; thus laying a plan for You, SarvEshwaran. You took viswarUpam and he faced Your hot scorching look from You! (azhala vizhitthAnE) Come and hug darling! After giving advice by Himself and by elders, still DhuryOdhanan never changed; and also attempted to win over KaNNan and thus got the azhala vizhitthal from Him. pOrokkappaNNi ippoomippoRaitheerppaan thErokkavoorndhaay! sezhundhaarvisayaRkaay kaarokkummEnik karumperunkaNNanE! aaraththazhuvaavandhu_achchOvachchO aayar_kaLpOrERE! achchOvachchO. One who rode the horses and the chariot for Arjunan victoriously in the battle field (thereby letting him- arjunan win in the battle and) in order to reduce the burden of bhUmi PiraaTTi! The most strongest, famous victorious MahAbhali performed a yagna and during that yaagam, you went as a small dwarf bachelor (Brahmachari boy) and begged for three measures of earth (with Your feet); He consented and while he was about to offer, the Acharya and priest of MahAbhali (SukrAchArya) knowing that it is not right attempted to stop him (bhali) from giving it saying this is “AthmA nAsAkara dhAnam”. MahAbhali refused to listen and proceeded to offer (as he had already given a word and felt proud that even if the Boy is Narayanan, so what? it is only a credit for Bhali Chakravartthi). SukrAchArya took the form of a small bee without anybody’s knowledge and stopped the water (while offering the dhAnam) from flowing out of the kettle- (kOnDikai). KaNNan seeing the hurdle from within, in order to clear the path, used His pavithram (blade of grass- dharbha) worn by Him and pricked the bee’s eye. Oh Lord who has chakrA in His hand! Come and huge me. One who has the conch shell in the left! What a mystery! My father MahAbhali did not know that you would cheat like this taking such Thrivikrama avatar. This is unfair and hence, go back to your original form and take back only three measures with Vaamana’s feet- said Namusi (son of Bhali- Bhali is the grandson of Prahalada). You took that Namusi with anger, rotated him above his head; made him swirl. Oh shining lustrous crown-headed Lord! Come and hug me. Lord of ThiruvEnkatam! Come and hug me. When Namusi saw the little dwarf Vamana growing so tall and huge as Trivikraman, saw only his feet, he shouted saying this is atrocious and cheating. The Lord tried to make him understand that it is perfectly normal for a person to grow when the offer is made. It is His nature to grow. When Namusi (the one who never leaves anything and never compromises) refused to listen and asked Him to go back to Vaamana form, the Lord took him and swirled him above His Head and left him there to land into His lustrous crown. mudijyOthiyaay un mugajOthi malarndhadhuvO? I am in trouble and approached Rudran with the skull stuck in His palm and begged you. You filled the same (by scratching the divine chest with your finger nail and) with the blood from your Body to remove his (Rudran’s) sin. The skull exploded to pieces. Oh SarvEshwara! Lord! Sriman Narayanan- who on His own comes in front of His dear BhakthAs (devotees) by taking various avatars; To such greatest sowlabhyan Sriman Narayanan, YasOdhA called lovingly “Come and huge me, darling”. And those words have been narrated (with inner meanings and impregnated Parathvam and SarvEswarathvam of the Lord) by Sri VilliputthUr’s Bhattan (Bhattar Piraan) in these ten pAsurams. Those who sing them always, will (be blessed to )rule the Paramapadham. When one recites these ten PAsurams [where KaNNan, Sriman Narayanan became her (YasOdhA’s) sEshan, the entire world becomes her sesham. (servitude)], the Paramapdham too becomes the devotees Sesham. Meaning they become Yuvarajaas- Emperumaan’s Kaimkarya Saamraajya swaraat. Kings of the blissful land of Kaimkaryams.
