Guest guest
Dear bhAgavatAs and especially Smt. Jayasree Saranathan, First of all thanks for proving my point beyond leaps and bounds on both grounds. You wrote: Those who have done prapatti or bhakti............ .....................they attain paramapada and there is no return for them. This is what I stated as well. That's what is most important. The earlier question by Sriman Varadarajan was not :Are there any svargam and narakam" It is quite clear in the bhagavadgItA that those who indulge only in the karma khAndam (trayI vidyA) return after spending time in svargam (and narakam). For prapannas this is irrelevant and may even be irreverant. If you believe in prapatti, why bother about revisiting the issue of svargam , narakam and punarjanmam- other than academic/childish curiosity? So your elaboration on this subject is scholarly in its own right but certainly out side the original question of Sriman Varadarajan and my answer to that question. By the way, Garuda purAnam is another excellent source on that topic. I am reminded of a story: There was this guy who was hard pressed for comapnionship. After all he had roamed for months in the Arabian desert. One day he came across a she camel. He badly wanted to at least give her a kiss. He was trying to make the camel get down to his level literally. The camel did not budge. Then there came a pretty woman, The guy was so happy- all his prayers answered. He approached the lady for her assistance in getting the camel down! I think it is time to kiss good bye to the camel. dAsan K.
