Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha! Is or Are there any direct reference(s) to the Bhagavath Gitaa in Naalaayira dhivya Prabhandha?May I request the learned bhagavathaas to clarify ?I know of a reference in Raamanuja Nootrandhaadhi.".... ThErinil nindru seppiya Geethaiyin semmai...'.... Is there any reference in any of the Paasurams sung by the Great Alwars ? Dhasan, Vasudevan [ There is a partial answer to this question by Prof. Vasudha Narayanan at http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/jul97/0015.html . It is a little bit puzzling that the Alvars have not referred to the Gita more frequently, but I suspect this is because they preferred to engage themselves in the contemplation of Krishna's saulabhya epitomized in the krishna-lIlA. -- Moderator ]
Guest guest
SrI: Dearest Srivaishnavas, In Naachiyaar Thirumozhi, AndAL mentions: meymmai peru vaartthai vishNu chitthar kEttiruppAr.. meymmai peru vaartthai- Charama slOkam- Sarva dharmaan.. vishNu chitthar- PeriyAzhwAr- the incarnate of Garuda- who was present as flag (GaruLa kodiyaan) on top of teh chariot of Arjunan driven by KaNNan. kettiruppAr- he would have heard. AndAL says: Garuda (from the flag) would have heard the charma slOka.. There is not need to hear other slokas of GitA; what one needs to hear anc tell others; AzhwAr had heard and conveyed to others through his daughter.
