Guest guest
Fellow Members, I recently heard M.S. Subbulakshmi's moving rendition of something I think is called 'govindaashtakam'. It begins with the words 'satyam jnAnam anantam nityam'. Can someone tell me who is the author of this stotra? Is it attributed to Adi Sankaracharya? Guest guest
Yes. It is an amazing rendering and one will be really immeresed with devotion. For people who want to listen to this, please go to the following site http://www.musicindiaonline.com -Click on Devotional under Light Music on the left navbar -then Click Sanskrit among the list of options -then click Stothrams there. There are a couple more soul stirring music in the same section namely Gita Govindam and Nama Ramayanam (both by the ever great MS).....please enjoy listening them.... If someone can let me know if there is a CD or cassette available of the same, it would be of great help. Ramanuja Daasan Chaithanya
Guest guest
-SRIMATHE RAMANUJAYA NAAMHA. Dear Sri Mani, Yes, This is by Adhi Shankara. One special feature of this composition is that this can be sung in one breath without any gap. The words are flowing out in such lucidity that the angas of braething like poorakam, kumbakam adn rEsakam are being taken care of while one sings / recites this composition. Even a person suffering at the moment from breathing problems like asthma/ wheezing can sing this without difficulty. You can notice the non-stop flow in M.s' rendition. The meaning, the vibration etc have made this composition an immortal one!! jayasree sarnathan. -- In bhakti-list, Mani Varadarajan <mani@r...> wrote: > > Fellow Members, > > I recently heard M.S.
