Guest guest
DEAR BHAKTHI GROUP MEMBERS It is true that Sri Rama rarely got angry and one of the instances is Sinathinaal Thennilangai Koamanaich Cherra Manathuk Iniyaan -Thiruppaavai. Here in Aaraayirappadi it is mentioned that When Thiruvadi was hit Sri Rama became angry. In Moovayirappadi it is quoted that When Sugreeva Maharaja got angered Sri Rama vanquished Vaali. These are instances to show that God who is full of mercy, gets angered against those who harm his devotees. It will be apt to observe Thriumozhi 5-7-2 where Gajendra Moksham is referred to directly. Kadikol Poompozhil kaamaru Poizhkai , vaighu thaamarai vaangiya veazham mudiyumvannam oar mudhalai parra, marradhu NIn Charan ninaippa, kodiya vaai vilangin vuyir malanga KONDA Seerram ......" The key words here is KONDA Seerram. That is, normally Emberuman does not get angered. Here He himself, out of volition got anger unto HIM to decimate the enemies of His devotees. This paasuram is exactly apposite as this is in the context of Gajendra Moksham. In this regard,it will be appropriate to recall the Sri Vachana Bhooshanam of Sri Pillai Lokachari " Eeswaran Avadharithup Pannina Aanaith Thozhilgal Ellam , Bhaagavadha Abhacharam Poramai" enru Jeeyar Arulichcheivar " SrivachanaBhooshanam -192. Though Lord is capable of destroying those just from his place by Sankalpam, he comes into the World in the form of Avatharam and brings to end Hirnaya and Ravana for their misdeeds and sins against Prahlaadhan and Maharishigal and others. In Bhagvadhas case,The Lord descends directly and makes Dhusta Nikraham. - Nanjeeyar. In this regard Thiruvoizhmozhip Paasuram " Thozhum Kaadhal Kaliru Alippaan" -3-1-8 is relevant. God could have vanquished the crocodile right from His Lokam. He descends for several reasons one of which is to give /show His presence to the Elephant Gajendra which had immense desire to worship Him. Thozhum -worship the Lord with The Chakra in His hand; kaadhal - desire; kaliru-AAnai -Gajendhra. On hearing the scream of Gajendra God forgot himself and the Chakra in his hand. Otherwise, he could have killed the mudhalai with thechakra or Sankalpam.Even if God had not forgot himself, he would have had to descend for the sake of Gajendra who desired to worship The Lord with The Chakra in His hand.
