Guest guest
Dear SrI Janakiraman : Excellent clarification about the life and times of this great soul. My speculation about KubEran was just that ! I am glad to know that this great VenkatEswara BhakthA lived in the 15th Century. TaLapAkkam Annamayya (1408-1503 C.E) was another great SrI VenkatEsa BhakthA , who has straddled the 15th Century. I wonder whther You have an exact date of birth for SrI Hathi BhAba to see whether their times on Thirumalai might have overlapped. I was aware that Upto 1933 , when the Madras Governemnt took over the administration of the temple, the Mahanthus were the key administrators. I was not however aware which lineage they came from (SaatthAtha MudaliyAr et al) . You have helped to clarify the link between Mahantus and the H.J.Bhaba Mutt. Next time , when I am in Thirumalai, I will make it a point to visit the Mutt and also look for the image of the dice game. Thanks SrI T.C.A.SatakOpan for clearly pointing out the location of the Image of the lord playing the dice game with His Parama BhakthA. It is also fascinating to know that the Morning SahasranAmam for the Lord is done in the name of Sri Hathi Bhaba. What a BhAgyam ! ThiruvEngadamudayAn is indeed Kaliyuga Varadhan. At this time , I am working on the translation of the meanings of the 1008 (Sahasra) NaamAs of Lord VenkatEswara. Hence Your input that the SrI VenkatEsa Sahasra Naama is linked to SrI Hathi Bhaba has special interst to me in the context of this Kaimkaryam. The translation and the commentary/gloss on the 108 (AshTotthara Satha) Naamas of Lord VenkatEsA used in the other dialy archanai has been completed and sent to the Executive officer of TT DevasthAnam today for information and comments on release as a TTD Publication. It will take some time to complete the kaimakryam on the write up on the SrI VenakatEsa sahasra Naamams. These two kiamkaryams were undertaken after hearing that there are no translations of the Shasra and AshtOtthar sathams in English and other languages now (?).This surprises me. If any one of the BhakthAs know of the existence of these two translations in Indian Languages or Tamil or Sanskrit, , please let me know . I will be most grateful. When completed , the /Meanings commentaries on SrI VenaktEsa NaamAvaLis will be archived in the SrI VenkatEswara Home page created by Sri Haresh Balasubramanyan of Singapore and adiyEn ( http://srimannarayana.net/foreword.html).
