Guest guest
Dear Sri Vaishnavas, As a college student born and raised in the tradition of Sri Ramanuja, I am currently contemplating the message of Sri Ramanuja for the world today. With so much of the world changing so quickly, these times are most uncertain. People seem agitated by this uncertainty, and afraid of the future. Random acts of violence seem to permeate modern life, and unfortunately most all of us have accepted this. How do features of the Sri Vaishnava tradition integrate into our lives in a modern setting and context? Many Vaishnavas are settled abroad, far away from the divya sthalams, and many more are settled in places that have no temple in the immediate vicinity or even in neighboring areas? These questions are broad in scope but I think answers to these questions would be helpful especially for the youth who are part of this list. adiyen Sri Raamanuja daasan, Krishnan
Guest guest
Hi Akhilesh That is a very thoughtful question GOD IS WITHIN US , OUR GOOD CONSCIENCE is THE PARAMATHMA , always guiding or rather prodding us to act righteously So , people who dont live in such places where there are no dvyadesams or temples shouldnt feel that they are far away from the percincts of their religion , after all , religion is a way of life Those who dont have access to all such places of worship , should build a temple within themselves and worship the LORD by doing things which would please HIM , like being good to others , helping the needy , etc Sowmya Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos & More http://faith. Dear Shree Krishna: How many young Sri VaishnavAs who live in Madras visit the Parthasarathy PerumAl temple at least once in a year? Hardly 1 out of 1000 is my guess. Nearness to the temple, divya desams etc., is in my opinion the least of our priority. Ideally, what the youngsters truly need is elders in their own family who can inspire them with acharya bhakti, anushtAnam, atma gunam and a desire to do Kaimkarya or self-less service to fellow Sri VaishnavAs. Where such a thing is not possible, institutions like Sri Ranganatha Temple should organize summer schools where a religious curriculum can be followed. You should take the initiative and organize the same with the help of the temple committee members. S. Vijayaraghavan Buffalo/NY
