Guest guest
Sri: Dear Members, Sometime back, I remember reading a book in kannada which was titled Brhad Devata and was a commentary by a Sri Vaishnava (I forget the author off hand since it was a few years back when i read that book). I understand that the original author is Saunaka of MAha-bharatam fame (Sauti comes to Naimisharanyam, which was Saunaka's hermitage). This apart, the paratatvam from individual rikas was dwelled upon briefly by Prof.K.S.Narayanacharya in one of his lectures many years back. I would like to know more about Brhad Devata and possibly commenatries on the rig samhitam within the Sri Vaishnava sampradayam. There was also a tika composed by an very early pAncharatrin on the rig veda samhitam vis-a-vis in the pAncharatram. There is one reference to this work in the sanat kumAra samhitam. However, that manuscript has not been published so far, and rests in the Oriental Research Society near Mysore. Any information on this is highly appreciated.
