Kamban has also the admiration of those who are not Vaishnavites or even the devotees of Sriman Narayana. There are a number of places in Tamil Nadu and (Sri Lanka as well ) where annual conferences are conducted on Kamban. At all these conferences speakers of all persuasions talk the praises of Sri Rama.(and also other bhagaavathas like Seetha, Lakshmana, Bharata, Anjaneeya etc). All upanyasakas on Ramayana during Rama Navami or other times, quote profusely from Kamba Ramayanam since it evokes favourable response from the listeners.
