Before such an argument can be discussed, it would be helpful to know what evidence Ms Krishna puts forth in favor of this theory. I have read arguments by Harvard's Witzel and others that the 10th Mandala of the Rg Veda, which contains the Purusha Sukta among other hymns, is a late addition because of linguistic and organizational dissimilarity with the rest of the text. I am no Vedic scholar, nor am I trained in 'chandas', but I'm not quite convinced by what I've read so far. I will admit that I have not researched this matter in detail because I don't find it very interesting. I should point out as Moderator that while some discussion of this issue is welcome here, an extended debate of this topic is beyond the scope of this list. They differ, however, in their explanations and dates for the same. Both contrast strongly with the traditional Vaidika arguments for the eternality of the Veda. -- Moderator ]
