Dear srivaishnavas,

Please accept Adiyel's humble namaskarams.

I would like to share with you all a small information

that i read from one of our sampradaya books about the

classification of our divine places in

India.Accordingly these places can be classified as

follows.

1. The places(sthalam)that were created by rishis are

called "Arsham".

2. The places that were described or mentioned

in puranas are called "pouraanikam".

3. The places where emperuman stationed according to

his own will, with out anybody's effort are called

"swayam vakta sthalangal"or "syttham".

4.The places that were created by Brahma or any devaas

as a result of their penance are called "Daivam".

5. Those that were createsd by kings and adiyaars are

called "Maanavam".

6. Those places that were favoured by Aacharya

purushas are called "Abimaana sthalam"

The places that were either included or

not included in these catagories,if they were sung by

our alwars then it becomes a "Divya desam".

Adiyel will post some more interesting informations

about our diya desams in my next mail.

Adiyel Ramanuja daasyai.
